All those involved in the oil business are getting their cut from the inflated prices we're paying on the forecourts - the oil-well owners, refineries and filling stations. In February of this year Shell announced record annual profits of $25.36 BILLION. On top of that the government siphons off nearly 70% of the price you pay in tax.

These organisations behave as if petrol and diesel are luxury goods, and driving is a hobby. We are not 'motorists' as the media like to call us. We are teachers, nurses, workers and parents! WE DRIVE BECAUSE WE HAVE TO - NOT BECAUSE WE WANT TO!

There are nearly 32 million of us in the UK. If a large number of us stand together and chose to give all our custom to one major forecourt chain, we could negotiate a substantial discount for ourselves. hey, about the bio-diesel, my dad was gonna buy a kit and run his diesel off of it, so he asked around his mechanic friends... and found that it is infact a false economy... you will end up having to change your filters every three months...
So, in the long run, if your driving long distances with your caron bio-diesel, you wont actually save that much money.

I thought normal filters wernt really expensive, why would bio - diesel be loads more expensive? Peace

Gwerzal,

Had a look at the site - it states you can save between 5p and 7p a litre but how. What I mean is are the savings the long run goal or can you save now ??

What it is is a group of people who are trying to make a consortium to buy petrol wholesale at trade prices and then split it between them basicly.

It is a good idea as anything that may put a dint in the like of esso and shell is a good thing, not sure if it will work as not enough people have signed up yet.
