| While card counting at Blackjack do you have an advantage when you get a negative or a positive result? In most card counting systems, a positive number is good for the player - a low card being used up adds to the count, a high card or ace being used up is negative on the count. Once the count reaches a certain number relative to the proportion of the deck left the game becomes profitable to play. The reason that the game is profitable in high counts (i.e. when there are more than average picture cards and aces in the deck) is because the player will make more blackjacks, which pay the player 1.5 on his bet but pay the house the same 1:1, and because the house will more often bust when forced to draw. While your strategy might deviate a little bit based on that information (you should google "basic blackjack strategy" if you intend to play), the primary focus is that in really good positive counts the game goes from being a few % against your favour, to being a few % in your favour. Ideally you want to spend the whole time it's not in your favour betting nothing, and the whole time it's in your favour betting as much as your bankroll can sustain - but a casino will notice your betting patterns and kick you out pretty quickly, and this is why the teams developed where people counted on behalf of a "high roller" who would step in to play when the count was good. All of that aside, a huge number of casinos are now dealing with automated shufflers which are continuously shuffling 8 decks while you play, making it impossible to keep a count and beat the house. |

| While card counting at Blackjack do you have an advantage when you get a negative or a positive result? zero value in blackjack counting is like starting the game from scratch. you just can't take any actions here based on card counting strategy as the simple conclusion is that both high and low value cards are in similar proportions in the deck. Therefore the probability to get a high or law value card is equal.See here for more details about blackjack card counting and the basic strategy card you can use while playing To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. | While card counting at Blackjack do you have an advantage when you get a negative or a positive result? Generally a positive count is when the deck in in your favor, and the larger the number the better. But there are many different card counting strategies out there, so it would depend on each one.Zero is where you start from with a new deck (again on most strategies).Basic strategy tells you whether to hit or stand, rather than the deck count, although a good counter may be able to modify basic strategy when the count reaches certain levels. In any case the edge you are going to get these days from counting is less than 2% according to everything I've read. So you'll make an average of $20 for every $1,000 you wager. But even then it comes with massive swings. And if you are working by yourself, you still have to waste money all the time that the deck is against you. |

| While card counting at Blackjack do you have an advantage when you get a negative or a positive result? When you have a positive count, it means that you have counting up too many tens and there are too few of them to be a fortunate outcome. As for playing strategy, you really need to get a chart for card counting because every situation is different depending on how high or low the count is. Blackjack Bluebook by Fred Renzey is probably the easiest to understand. |

| While card counting at Blackjack do you have an advantage when you get a negative or a positive result? Actually, both a positve and negative count can provide a slight advantage to the player. A positive count indicates a disproportionate number of face cards left in the shoe, and is to the players advantage as far as increasing your bet, decisions about hitting or staying, splitting, doubling down, and adds the possibility getting more blackjacks. A negative count indicates a disproportionate amount of small cards left in the shoe and can be an advantage as far as reducing you bet, and some decisions about htting, folding, splitting, ro doubling down. For example, if the deck is negative, and you have a 12 or 13 you may want to hit, knowing there are a lot more smaller cards than face cards. Here is some more information that may help you out: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater.
