How to make your computer load faster!

I did a little search I couldn't find a post that said this, but you can click Start>Run then type MSCONFIG
then a window will appear click on start up Tab, then chose the list of things you don't want for windows to load and make you wait, things suck as Adobe,because you only use it when you use it! or Msn etc... and the more u un-check the faster your computer computer will load after restart,

Use at own risk, some files with the .EXE shouldn't be clicked or thats what I heard, but I did them any way and didn't cause any problems for me

Other thing you can do is to clear the prefetch data files which gets cognate while using the PC for so long and leaving this file intact.

I know of a free software that can help with that without having to get into MSConfig. It is called CCleaner. Just put it in google and it will find it for you, it the top hit. Install this and in Tools it will tell you all the program that loads on start up. You just go through and delete the entries that you know are not required. This will then speed your pc when loading up. The software also is great for getting rid of temporary files, fixes registrary keys and a whole load of other useful utilities. It's free so won't cost you a penny. I've been using for the past 3 years and it's served me well. It also prompts your for updated versions so you're always up to date. Give it a try guys.

Ashampoo was also free when I got it. Very good. anand just on the offchance that you may still be around (you seem pretty inactive atm) could I have some more info on the prefetch files?

Startup Ispector is also a good free program you can stop a procces from running at start good at getting a faster startup.

I have use Tuneup utilities and it speeds up the the system noticeable as well as clear all cookies and corrects registry error and it free for 30days

I usually delete things i don't use, MSN slows your PC down Hugely!!!
