This should only be done on your own car. Very useful to know if you lock your keys in the car.

This obviously wont work on all cars but if you have an electronic locking system then it very well may.

It also shows the vulnerability of even modern cars so always secure your car with some kind of immobilisor.

I have heard of this before but i have never seen it done.

Makes sense though.

If the air pressure from the tennis ball can move the locking mechanism it should open it.

As far as I can tell, this would only work on older cars with vacuum based lock systems. Air pressure alone would not affect the motor/electric based locks in today's cars. My dad has a 21yr old Mercedes and it uses a vacuum system, so whenever you lock or unlock, there is a slight delay, and you hear the air pressure moving the locking mechanisms in the doors. When I get a chance to test this, I will get back to you guys with the results

You are correct - this trick has been fairly common knowledge for years but it can only work with the original air pressure (or vacuum based) central locking systems.

I don't think there are many (if any) new cars that this would work with.

Have any of you guys ever seen the US show mythbusters? It's on the discovery channel. Anyway, they referenced this same video, and called it a fake. Maybe I will use my dad's car to make a video of my own...

Tried it on my dads triumph about 10 minutes ago and it opened it

hi nath i back u up m8 i watch myth busters all the time and thay tried it and it did not work i am not saying it will not work maybe on a realy old car but i could not c any 1 sneaking out in the middle of the night to steal them self a brand new bmw with a tennis ball lmao

No, but thats because its more hi tech and has a different locking system, it worked on my car though and that was made in 1998, so even then, you could still pinch a fairly good car, just make sure it has old locking systems, if you do this, make sure you dont get caught lol, Peace
