We all know red light and speed cameras are for profit. OK, some of them can and do slow traffic in dangerous places but many are placed just to generate revenue.

Whilst you obviously shouldn't be speeding its not good when you get fined for just getting caught out going just over the speed limit.

Now you can make your car's number plate invisable.

The best way to avoid photo radar is to make your car's license plate invisible to the speed cameras. They can't ticket what they can't see.

There are a few ways of doing this but the best and most effective is defiantely the photoblocker spray.

Il vouch for this stuff.

I have used photoblocker on my cars for a few years now and have never recieved a fine through the post even knowing that i have been flashed on a number of occasions.

True, the speed cameras don't always have film in them but i put it down to the photoblocker making my licence plate invisible.

Duh, they're digital , none of them have film in them. Time to get at least into the 90's.

What difference does that make.

They still flash therefore the image can still be distorted.

I just don't understand how some peoples brains work.

Just stop driving like an idiot and you won't have to worry about it.

Pay the fine or buy stuff to avoid paying the fine for years. Don't make much freakin' sense to me. You're still paying.

The stuff costs almost as much as the ticket and it ain't like the ticket puts points on your license or raises your insurance.

Actualy here in the UK if you get caught speeding you do get points on your licence (3 points) and when your only allowed a maximum of 12 points before you get banned (6 if its in the first 2 years of driving) its getting harder and harder to keep your licence.

4 strikes and your out.

Your insurance is also gauranteed to go up if you get a speeding ticket also.

Anybody can get caught out by a speed gun or gatso, even the non-serial speeders who dont have a heavy foot.

If you ask me it is well worth the price when there is so much at risk.

I dont use phantom blocker because i didnt know it existed (i will be buying some now) but i do have a radar detector in my car which has saved me on a number of accasions.

Got absolutely nothing to do with getting a red light ticket in the mail.

Red light tickets in the mail DO NOT get points or raises in insurance. They have know freakin' idea who was driving.

Why argue something you know nothing about!

Red light tickets do give you points in the uk and it doesnt matter who was driving.

Who even mentioned red light tickets in this whole thread anyway.

Were talking generaly about speed cameras that flash (that does include red light cameras)

The owner of the car will get fined and get points unless they declare someone else was driving.

So, erm, they do know who was driving and you will get done for it.

Section 43 of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 creates the offence of obscuring the registration mark or number plate.
43(1) It is an offence to obscure a registration mark in any way or make it not easily distinguishable.

Therefore, the application of this spray is illegal.

Spraying your plate with a clear spray is hardly obscuring it,
It is still easily distinguishable with a coppers naked eye......

Anyway...I bought a bottle of this AFTER 1994, think it was around 2001 and it stated on the bottle that it was legal for use.
The law may have changed since then (Mr Blair has gave us 3000 more! since 1997) so dont take my word for it!!.

Ive still got 3 speeding points since using it though! from copper with a hand held radar.......
