I was sent quite a few letters from the TV Licensing folk, each one more aggressive than the last. Never replied or phoned them up to say I wasn't watching TV, but then they never sent people over to check.
You only need to have a TV Licence if you watch live TV, even if you watch live telly on your computer. You can play games consoles, watch DVDs etc legally without a licence. If you do watch live telly, they can detect this down to the actual house but as far as I'm aware, they still need to send someone round to see if you have a TV ariel or other incriminating evidence. If you have a roof ariel, well you're pretty much f**ked! |
