So if i had an old sky box lying around i could do this but then should never plug it back into the phone line or i would get charged? What would happen if I sold on my sky box would the new owner then get charged if they plugged it into their phone line?

just tried it dont work at all because they tell you to ring them and dont tell you to enter the pin like you say!

i have a sky box with a line in but i have a box up stairs with no line in if i tried it upstairs
would i need to

disconnect

down stairs

You only need to connect the two black wires, 1 to +ve terminal & 1 to -ve terminal. Doesn't matter which way round either. You will get stung by Sky if you reconnect the phone line though.

yeah say if you bought 20 movies at ?3 each and got sky gamepasses and plugged it back in then it would ?60 for the movies and ?1 every time you bought a gamepass (or is it ?1.50)

Don't quite know what you mean about the gamepasses (I'm not a gamer ) but I did learn from experience that once you reconnect your phoneline for any reason the info gets back to Sky HQ and you will get billed for what you watched. Strange thing was that not all of the movies were listed on the bill so I did get a couple FOC.
