| Bev's Guide to The £11 Rule I read about the £11 Rule on another fruit machine website a long time ago. It was a guy who claimed that £11 was all you needed to be able to jackpot a machine. These days, it's not that simple. So I adapted the £11 rule to my own learning of the fruit machine. It goes like this:
Play the fruit machines with pound coins only. It only pays out in pound coins.
Try to get onto the main board. Once you are on, you'll have an idea of how generous the machine is by how far it lets you get up the trail.
Aim to lose the first time on the board. This will tell you how much money the fruit machine is prepared to give you.
Try to get on the board again and play for the Super Board or any other tricks you know.
If you aren't playing for the jackpot, leave when you're up.
Most importantly, never spend more than £11 on a fruit machine without getting anything from it
By the time the 11th pound coin drops into the machine, you should realise whether it's going to pay or not. If it's not, try and get your money back, or at least some of it back. Otherwise, it's worth trying. Note, however, this is not a hard-and-fast guarenteed way to win. It's my own personal limit on how much to waste on a fruit machine before giving up and trying something else. The main point is to realise when the fruit machine doesn't have any money in it and get out while you can. |

| Re: Bev's Guide to The £11 Rule but surely by the time you get to £11 - if you havent won - you will be thinking "it MUST pay soon". Through bitter experience i have learned that this is not the case. Only a month ago i won £70 on a machine. Very nice, except for the fact that i put about £65 in to get it! I am still reading through your posts (great posts btw), but have, until recently, worked on the assumption that if my pound coin falls to the bottom, the machine will pay out. I have lined a few landlords pockets by trusting that - it doesnt always work To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. Through bitter experience i have learned that this is not the case | I think the OP means that you will probably have to accept a loss if after the £11 the board is still not offering much but try and get back as much of the £11 as you can.
Only problem is if you kept going from machine to machine and you are unfortunate enough to keep catching machines that are on the take then you will soon be down a fair bit. Quote: | until recently, worked on the assumption that if my pound coin falls to the bottom, the machine will pay out. I have lined a few landlords pockets by trusting that - it doesnt always work | About 15 years ago, particularly when the money was held in tubes rather than hoppers, this was a good indication on a lot of machines. i.e. if the machine was "backing" (coins were falling down the back) then it wasn't far away from paying out. These days that isn't so true and there's also the problem where the engineer has manually filled up the tube/hopper and the machine is "backing" anyway.
There are still older machines in some arcades where "backing" is a good indication however. |

| Re: Bev's Guide to The £11 Rule Bev, your post reminds me of a time in my life, way back in the mists of the early 1970's there was an 'old geezer' who constantly won on the fruit machines. Small, very small, payouts then and if you got to £1 or more it paid in tokens you had to spend in the pub, or you could put it back in the machine.
Anyway this geezer genuinely won regularly. By 'won' I mean made a profit. He'd sit and watch the machine get played and strike when he was sure it was due a payout. Myself, I only ever saw him win, 3 time a week! The 3 days I went to that pub.
The thing about him that amused me was the tokens issue. He asked the land lady, who looked remarkably like 'Annie Walker' on Coronation Street, if she would change them for cash. She declined.
Not be "out done by a woman," he proceeded to exchange the tokens for cash. How? By giving one token free to everyone that gave him cash for £1 in tokens. He sat by the only machine in the pub and regulars would ask him if they wanted to do a deal on tokens. The changed amounts for what they were going to put in the machine anyway and got a free go to boot. He did not mind the 10% loss as he was still in profit on his outlay.
The best part about the token deals were when he offered to give cash for tokens to other winners. He' d buy them for face value, less 20%. Then he'd do his regular deal with other players for one free token per pound; a nice profit.
How did he win? Well he told me his 'secret'. It seemed to make sense so I gave it a go and lost every time!
I told the 'old geezer' of my losses and he said, "Trouble with you youngsters, (I was 18), is you just don't listen to what is being said. Even when you do listen you don't here WHAT is being said;" (something like that anyway).
I will tell you one last time. Buy me a pint of bitter, sit down, listen to what I tell you and hear what I say. Ask me afterwards if there is ought you don't understand. Make sure you do because if you ever tell me you have lost again, or question me further about how I win, we will fall out, permanently."
After a lot of practice and losing the equivalent of 3 weeks wages, I got the hang of the technique. I started winning regularly, not all the time but more often than not. I won back my losses and gained a few pounds then stopped feeding the insatiable mechanical monster. Fact is I preferred chatting with my friends and playing 'arrahs' to the company of spinning reels and flashing lights. Aaah, memories To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

| Re: Bev's Guide to The £11 Rule you can't really use this rule now though especially on alot of the bellfruit games as most of them - especially the DOND games will give you a run of cheap quick boards say every £2 - £4 and then cost maximum £18 for a board even if the machine is playing amazing and about to pay out |

| Re: Bev's Guide to The £11 Rule 11 huh? i'm guessing tts the number everyone who has played for ages tested it and found it to be a good average to start seeing if the machine is gg to pay out. so it should be pretty good to try it despite the fact tt u may run into a bad streak of losing a number of 11 dollars in a row hahas |
