If you just type CNN and press CTRL+ENTER, it is as good as entering www.cnn.com!
IMPORTANT NOTE: To best of my knowledge it only works for .com addresses |

if you have firefox you can just type in say google and press enter and it takes you to the website | |

not everyone has firefox though beatchu

Yes its true but a quite old shortcut of IE or web browsers. Anyways of late thanks for having sharing this with us. | |

If you are using firefox, shift and enter gives .net , and ctrl shift and enter gives .org. Alt and enter, puts the address in a new tab.
However with opera, shift and enter puts the address in new tab(as well as shift clicking anything that goes to a webpage), ctrl shift and enter puts the address in a new background tab. However you can configure opera's behaviour of them shortcuts to behave like firefox. | |
