You can see where they are coming from. Probably hope that people will sign up with real contact details, easy way of gathering information to spam spam spam... lol. I find it annoying when you find that you have a main email address that you use for important information but no matter what companies you sign up for, even legitimate and trusted one's, within weeks you are full to the brim with rubbish, making you change once more in hope of peace.
