She just stood there in shock an couldn't get her words out. I didnt make it any better by pretending i was interested in what she had to say.
Dont think it helped that she woke me up and me morning glory had not yet settled lol. |

It's true i'm afraid you do need a licence,a friend of mine tried that and unfortunately she got a £1000 fine for trying to say that she only used the tv for her son to play his console on.

I know some one who genuinely doesnt watch tv, they only watch videos or dvds and he tried to do the "but i dont watch tv" thing.
Well the licencers wernt buying it and ordered him to pay it with a court order or some crap but guess what?
He took them all the way to court and won lol.
For the sceptics he did have a tv, which to one law does seem to mean he does need a license as a tv can recieve broadcast.
Anyways 187 tv people, suck it |

Or - What if used something like a WinTV coax-usb thingy and ran it through your laptop/PC. I know you'll still be recieving channels but it's easier to disconnect and convince them you don't watch television. |

I can't believe this lol my parents havent ever paid the tv license in well...since i was born....!! i only thing the checkers have come round twice...the first time when i was like 11 i lobbed a blanket over the t.v no joke they didnt even notice
+ I'm sure i readthey'res a loophole where you only pay a license if the content is being viewed as streamed...so if you were watching with, say a 1min delay you don't have to pay?? maybe im wrong idk..
or as 753951 said, buy a digital USB tv stick and use that cus im sure you would get away with that

I don't think they need to gain access to your home to check though, don't they have these 'detector' vans buzzing around still? They can tell if your tv aerial is receiving any incoming transmission. |
