Nominated 20 Times in 14 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Hangover Cures, Tips etc Now i've been burning the candle at both ends lately, but on my quest to find drunkenness, i have picked up a few little pointers which i feel may be of interest. - Before you got out, definitely line your stomach, and drink some milk or fruit juice.
- The reason why you feel so bad, is loss of vitamins, so take supplements, and eat food rich in A,B and C, drink juice etc
- Your gunna be dehydrated so before the end of the night, if you know you've had enough, don't have a tequila shot, drink some water, also when you get in, neck a pint of water, and take a pint to bed with ya.
- When waiting for a taxi, eat a pizza, kebab etc, it aint everyones cup of tea, but cheesy foods have animo acids in which will help, and general food will help absorb all of that nasty alcohol you've drunk
- Have a hot both, try and manage a brief run in a bin bag. Sounds crazy but it will help sweat all that alcohol out of your body.
- For the more hardcore - Hair of the dog
Now these are basic but they will help.
Vodka is one of the easiest hangovers to cure, it you did hit it hard, its still bad but better than some other drinks.
Champagne is one of the worst drinks you can have if you do not want a hangover, so if your very middle class and your still young, i got some bad news for you. Wine is bad n all.
For the people Conscious of their figure, avoid beer, ales etc, spirits will be your game.
Remember drink responsibly, and wait at least 12 hours before you drive.
Heres an ebook that will put you on your way to hangover free mornings:-
Mine for some reason wont upload but go to http://www.hugehangover.com/ for your free ebook.

the best way to avoid hangovers... is to throw up the night before, ive dne this many times altoughu feel horrible... u get most of the alch ut of your system there an then... btw this is only if your too drunk to walk... (or run in a binbag)... so being sick, when your very drunk, then immedietly going to bed, lying on your SIDE, sos u dont choke if your sick again... you'll wake u, with a slight headache (if your unlucky) but nothing a few paracetamol cant help
oh aye.. and know your limits, dont over do it... it aint big, and it aint clever

Alcohol hangover and Liv.52. [Eur J Clin Pharmacol. 1991] - PubMed Result
Take 4 or 5 of these before you go out drinking and another 3 through the course of the evening and you will, in my experience, have little or no hangover. Combine this with some of those fizzy vitamin C tablets dissolved in some water when you come home and you'll feel just fine the next day.
One last tip; if you don't do this and you feel seriously sick the next day, so sick that you can't get Paracetomol to stay down without puking them up again, then take the Paracetomol in the form of Calpol which is that raspberry flavoured gooey medicine you give to kids - it stays down a treat and tastes ok too!
Cheers!

Im gunna give that liv-52 ago, and i forgot that Calpol even existed, i might just buy some cos i like it. The vitamin tablets that dissolve in water always help me on my way to being sober, the ones that taste like orange is like drinking fanta. Peace |

The thought of running in a bin liner sounds great, but im not suffering from a hangover (when i am its a different story). My best tips (as a seasoned drinker (with the belly to prove it)) are to always eat before a night out, try to have a pint of water now and again through the night or at least before you sleep. Fizzy water is apparently better, but i really thik its 'horses for courses' and you need to find what works for you. A Mars bar before bed was also a good tip i heard. The bottom line is to know your limits and to drink responsibly. If your Sunday is quiet then indulge by all means, but im tired of reading in papers that someone has driven the day after a heavy night out and killed someone (a Plymouth Arglye player being a case in point). If i am working the next day or i have to drive, then i limit my drinking, not least 'cos there is nothing worse than working with a hangover.
You have to be aware though, that the police are out in force after big drink related public holidays! If you're planning a big New Year celebration, then dont drive until you're safe on New Years day, because the police presence is huge! |

The only alcohol you will get out your system will be the alcohol left in your stomache and will do nothing to all the alcohol that has already left the stomache.
The saying that if you dont eat before drinking you get more drunk is a myth as well.
It wont stop you getting just as drunk it will just slow it down as the food has to pass through the system as well as the alcohol but if you drink just the same you will be just as pissed. |
