Reset Nokia Security Code

So you don't know or you have forgotten your Nokia Security code? Don't worry the solution lies in this very page! No data cable needed with this new solution.

This is an application that generates the Master Code for most Nokia handsets.

So what is a master code I hear you ask.
Well lets assume you have forgotten your security code. The master code is a 10 digit number that will always be accepted as if it were your actual security code.

You can then use the master code to change your security code back to what ever you like. When your Nokia handset asks you for the security code simply enter the master code.

How do you generate the master code?
The master code is specific to your handset and is generated using the handset 15 digit IMEI number (serial number). I am happy to report that thanks to one of our forum moderators Keith (AKA keithod) their is a great little program that will generate your master code easily.

You can download the software via the attchment at the bottom of this thread

Simply download the file onto your PC and double click it to run the program. You will see the following window appear:

Now enter your 15 digit serial / IMEI number and click "OK" (this can usualy be found on the sticker underneath the battery or by typing *#06#). Your master code will then be displayed:

This program has been written in Java and so you may need to download and install Java runtime. You can download java runtime HERE

I have not tested this extensively but I believe this will work for all DCT3 and DCT4 handste but not the BB5 range. So this will not work for the newer Nokia's such as 6630, 6680, 6280 and N-series.. etc

NOTE:
The default security code for all Nokia handsets is 12345

I locked my keypad when drunk and don't remember the password. I tried to download your programme, couldn't.

I think there are two reasons:

1. It didn't work for one of the posters (well I assume that's what they are saying).

2. The new rules mean you can't download without being a "Pro" member.

i have this problem with my phone, every time i get an incoming call it always comes up as unknown number and the number is not displayed. its really kinda getting annoying now cos i cant tell whose called me when i miss a call. can sum1 please help me!
oh ye and another thing i cant remember my security code or pin code. would the above info work for a nokia 6301?
