There's a theory I came across, and it explains that all humans are equal- at least in four ways: Potential for success, Potential for failure, Potential to live (say if you were in a coma and about to die) and Potential to die. This theory states that the potential for all of the above is equal in all humans. We all can die at any second- people who are an inch from death can heal suddenly, a poor man could suddenly become rich(lottery), a woman's nightmare could come true... Simply put, it's saying that we're equal in these ways because life is so unpredictable, and anything can happen at any moment that could completely eradicate our foresight. We can't properly predict where we'll be with 100% accuracy, we can't condense our futures to a science.Think about it- sure you can say: "this NBA star will outlive this old lady" but he could get hit by a bus tomorrow, and you'd be wrong. and so on and so forth.Though not to say that people certainly don't differ- oh, they do. Everyone has different resources, opportunities, disadvantages and advantages, etc etc. But that is believed to further support this theory than to deter it- because all those factors just add to the uncertainty of our loves, deaths, and everything in between. The idea of the theory is that it's inaccurate and somewhat naive for people to judge where others or even themselves will be- and it deters arrogance like that. I'm not sure I have an opinion, but this theory certainly makes some sense to me.What do you think? |

I do agree in some ways to what you said, but like you said about the man in a coma, if 2 men where in a coma i do believe that it takes some form of mental strength to battle it, and that the one with greater mental strength will come out sooner or will and the other wont, and the urge, the will to fight on when the going gets tough, can be said as something that is built into us, like an instinct, but then again if you study into phycology you would find out humans dont have instincts, and instinct is something that cannot be over ridden, but because of how we live and how our mind works, we over ride and built different instincts in different parts of our life, which brings up the whole, does living thru a life change someone or are they born that way, i would say its a mixture of both, because lets take for example the kamakazi pilots in WWII now they would happily die for their country(which did force their hand into a loosing direction but thats a different matter) now we have an instinct from birth that has use want to preserve life to keep on going till the end, now they have over ridden that instinct and achieved a high status in life or so they believed. now thats because of the place they lived...japan they grew up with a history of their people killing themselfs if they loose a battle.
so for example, the potential for failure is really the same in us all, because more than 50% of failures are because we failed others not ourselfs and the rest are goals too high set. but the potential for success, the way of being brought up i believe is what makes some fall at the first hurdle and others to keep on riding thru life.
life for example the KFC fanchise before it was made got over 1000 rejections, now it takes some will power to be told that your idea wont work 1000 times to think they dont know what they are saying and make millions from it.
now potential for anything in human kind is obviously all equal because potential is limitless nothing is really impossible with the human mind....but there are some ristrictions created in our mind from small events in our lifes that can prevent us, but if we identify these problems then we can re discover our potential and go on trying to reach the end of that rainbow....
so in a way yes lol that was aload of rubbish i said to be honest but if ya get it cool. |
