thought i would share this one with you. I recently changed my mobile phone on an upgrade, it came with one months free insurance. So far so good; one month on i would cancel the insurance so as not to pay the premuim.

On the one month deadline i phoned the company to cancel the insurance and was told that i would have to give 30 days notice to quit the policy. This would mean that the direct debit would go out for the real price of the insurance at the same time as the monthly rental payment.

So one month free and no claim had just turned into a payment.

Not that happy i stuck it on the company and refused to pay any more money to them, they weren't happy but they did agree that they did not want to loose a customer.

The secret to getting them to see it my way, was that i had realised that the wording of their policy actually meant that the first month would be payed for, but at half the price, not the free insurance that they had promised.

So folks don't let these companies catch you out. most house insurance policies cover mobile phones and their replacment. Check this out before you cancel your policy though.
