Need Info on Hard Drive for PS2

I have a ps2 with a lot of games and 3 boys. After replaceing several games lately, I have come across a ps2 with harddrive so you can load your games and not need the cd/dvd to play. Has anyone have any info, google is confusing.

I have no idea how it could work because there has to be some sort of way to insert the game. But then again I ain't pro and it could be possible.
I would recommend mod-chipping your PS2, I have already made a post on chipping a Wii to get completely FREE games, and I also know that some PS2 modchips exist. Go on

Welcome to the forum trigger, if you need any help, contact a mod. Ive always heard abotu a ps2 being able to get chipped but ive never known anyone to actually have one. It is probably possible and i know the p21 can get done. Maybe try and search for mod chips online or narrow down your search on google. Maybe try 'ps2 chips' in the quotes in google or summink. , only thing I could come up with is something called a Hdloader which is meant for the PS2, seems to be a similar thing to what you mentioned, but all goes over my head

HDloader is correct but i've never used it, just looked into it! depending on certain factors your PS2 may already be chipped because some clever people found a way of connecting a non sony HDD to a PS2 and use certain programs/hardware to softmod the PS2 to allow loading copied games onto the PS2. I'll look into it this morning for you and try and get a little more info for you but I may need some more info from you yet like can yo uaccess the hard drive from your PS2 browser, is there any games installed on it, are there other browser functions when you start up your PS2 apart from the 2 main ones? If you can answer those questions for me I may be able to determine wether your PS2 has already been softmodded to play copied games wether from the hard drive or DVD backups! I'll contact you later mate.
P.S do you have MSN messenger atall 'cos that way we can run through some things and determine what you can/can't do!

Ah, Found afew websites that give some form of info on the hdloader Trig, hope you can understand them. They confused me (Although thats not hard)

You're actually right about it. I didn't know you could do this. But seriously be extremely careful as it does not work with every version if PS2 and you need to know what you're doing a little.

you can buy any ide drive, about the size of the computer hhd, and you can use hdloader .8c to run your game.
