Find a sure-fire way to win at poker. Well, there is no one miracle way to turn a player into a star overnight, but there are several simple things that can lead you to success.
Memorize your cards! If you continuously look at your cards, it is a signal to your opponents. Look at your hand, repeat it silently to yourself, and then concentrate on your opponents. Watch their body language, facial expressions, habits, etc. When you are not in a hand it is a perfect time to watch other players at the table to pick up hints about the cards they hold.
Emotions is the key - some players show their emotions on their face and you can see if they are happy with their hand or very disappointed. If you can control your emotions, it will be harder for your opponents to guess about the cards you are holding. If you can, let your ego take a vacation -- if someone bluffs and wins -- let it be. Better to fold a few winning hands then call every bet to river and lose all your money.
Are you tired, stressed-out, or mad at your mate when you hit the poker room? If so, you may be asking for trouble. The best way to success is being focused on the game. Concentrate on poker and forget about the rest of the world for a while.
Read all the books, play and practice -- just like my old piano teacher tought me! You will never be good enough. Watch other players -- find the one that wins consistently and study his/her methods. Find another player who consistently loses and figure out why. Yep, practice, keep watching, listen and learn.
