How to Enable Automatic Logon in Windows XP
To automatically log in a specified user each time Windows XP boots rather than having to enter the user name and password each time:
- Click on Start, and then click on Run.
- In the Open box type control userpasswords2. Then click OK.
- Uncheck the box that says “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” and then click OK.
4. In the Automatically Log On window type in the
user name that you want to automatically log on. Then type the
password and type it again in the confirm box (
Note: This does not change your password. You must enter in the password that your user currently uses.). Click
OK.
5. You have now enabled Automatic Logon in Windows XP.
